Job Role - Nursery Teaching Assistant 

Location – Abergavenny

Pay - £12.90 per hour

Start Date – February 2025

Hours – Part Time 

Teaching Personnel are seeking to recruit a part-time teaching assistant to work in a Nursery based Abergavenny!

The role will consist of supporting the children with day-to-day activities in the classroom whilst contributing to the positive and welcoming environment. The children are aged between 2-3 years old, and the nursery pride themselves on promoting an independent learning environment for the children. The ideal candidate must be able to work as part of a team environment with the teachers and TAs in the classroom to work collaboratively. Using initiative will be essential in the role, and ensuring the children are working as expected and receiving the correct support with daily activities. 

About the school:

The nursery is based in NP7, and you will be joining a welcoming team of teachers and teaching assistants. The nursery includes a range of workstations for the children to enjoy different activities, along with a large garden space for outdoor learning. If the successful candidate is a good fit for the nursery, the part-time position could be extended until the end of the academic year. 

Teaching Assistant Duties:

  • Preparing the classroom and resources ready for activities 
  • Supporting the teacher with general classroom assistance 
  • Help to maintain a clean and tidy classroom environment
  • Good communication skills and nurturing personality

Requirement Criteria:

  • Enhanced Child Only DBS Certificate that is on the DBS Update Service (Teaching Personnel can help with this!)
  • Register for the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
  • Be able to provide professional based reference details

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
