Job description

CACHE LEVEL 3 CHILDCARE NURSERY ASSISTANT

A lovely Special Educational Needs Children’s Centre have a new and exciting Opportunity for a level 3 nursery practitioner to join their team for the academic year and foreseeable. Our experienced and dedicated staff are committed to support each individual child and work in partnership with parents and carers to ensure that each child receives the care and provision they need to reach their full potential regardless of race, gender or disability. Our partnership with parents is essential to our work, we believe you are your child’s first teacher and we value your opinions and support. We believe in children learning through play, and we offer a safe, stimulating learning environment to enable children to develop and make the first steps to becoming independent learners.

Key Responsibilities for this role are:

  • Looking after the health and wellbeing of the child, such as feeding babies and changing their nappies.
  • Observing children's progress and development, and keeping record of this to collaborate and communicate with parents.
  • Helping children to develop core skills, such as numeracy and literacy. This could be by reading stories or playing counting games.
  • Providing a safe and enabling environment for children to work in. This would require adhering to the learning environment's procedures and policies.
  • Teaching to the curricular requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework.
  • Taking children on trips or outings outside of lesson time.
  • Encouraging physical activities to keep children active.
  • Supporting children's mental health, fostering an environment where children find help if they need it. This may include reaching out to children, checking in, and working with other teams to prevent or solve any issues.
  • Boosting life skills, such as cooking or using money in age-appropriate activities.
  • Supporting communication and social skills to help children interact with those around them.
  • Helping children with educational disabilities or needs with their studies.
  • Some practitioners may have specific training to cater for specific needs.

Practitioners in the Early Years are known to be compassionate, responsible, and passionate about nurturing the children in their care in order for them to reach their full potential. Relevant skills and experience that they may have are:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Enjoy the company of young children and being committed to helping them thrive.
  • Imagination and creativity.
  • A cultivated sense of responsibility; the ability to follow procedures and policies.
  • Excellent organisational skills; the ability to plan the day and respond to the individual needs of every child in their care.
  • Patience, enthusiasm and a caring nature.

Contract: Permanent Role

Salary: £80-£90 Daily rate

Start: Immediate Start

Qualifications: Level 3 Cache Childcare Diploma is Essential

Hours: Between the hours of 8:30-5:30

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
