Music Teacher – Secondary School (Torbay)

Location: Torbay
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Pay: £130 - £180 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications) - paid to teacher scale
Contract: Full-time, temporary with potential for a permanent role

Are you a passionate Music Teacher looking for an exciting opportunity in a secondary school in Torbay? Teaching Personnel are seeking a dedicated and creative individual to inspire students through engaging music lessons, developing their skills, confidence and love for the subject.

The Role:

As a Music Teacher, you will:

  • Teach Music across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential for KS5.
  • Plan and deliver creative and engaging lessons, incorporating both theory and practical elements.
  • Organise and support extracurricular music activities such as choirs, bands, and performances.
  • Encourage student participation and develop their musical talents.
  • Assess, monitor, and provide feedback on students’ progress.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively and maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the school's performing arts department.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent – applications from ECTs are welcome.
  • Experience teaching Music at KS3 and KS4 (KS5 experience is desirable but not essential).
  • A passion for music and the ability to inspire students.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • The ability to support and lead extracurricular music activities.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
