Role Overview:

Teaching Personnel is seeking a passionate and experienced Music Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Wilmslow. This is a full-time position starting in September, offering an opportunity to inspire and nurture students' musical talents while contributing to the school’s vibrant cultural environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspirational Teaching: Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and inclusive music lessons across Key Stage 3 and 4, ensuring alignment with the national curriculum.
  • Skill Development: Foster students' musical abilities in performance, composition, and appreciation through well-structured lessons and varied teaching methods.
  • Ensemble Leadership: Organize and lead extracurricular activities such as choirs, bands, or orchestras, promoting collaborative learning and teamwork.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Monitor and evaluate student progress through regular assessments, providing constructive feedback to support academic and personal growth.
  • Classroom Management: Create a positive, dynamic, and well-organized classroom environment conducive to effective learning.
  • Event Participation: Contribute to school events and performances, showcasing students' achievements and celebrating their creativity.
  • Curriculum Enrichment: Develop and adapt curriculum plans to meet the diverse needs of learners, encouraging cultural awareness and appreciation of different musical traditions.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues within the Creative Arts department to share resources, ideas, and best practices.
  • Parental Engagement: Build and maintain positive relationships with parents, keeping them informed of student progress and involving them in their child's musical journey.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Holds QTS or equivalent teaching qualification with a specialism in Music.
  • Teaching Experience: Proven experience teaching Music at Key Stage 3 and 4, with a track record of delivering engaging and effective lessons.
  • Musical Expertise: Demonstrates strong practical skills in performance and composition, with the ability to inspire students to explore their creative potential.
  • Classroom Management: Capable of maintaining a structured, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
  • Passion for Education: Committed to fostering a love for music and encouraging students to reach their full potential.
  • Collaboration Skills: A team-oriented individual who contributes positively to the Creative Arts department and the broader school community.
