Music Teacher – Secondary School – Hyde – Full-Time Role Starting September

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a well-regarded and Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ secondary school in Hyde, Greater Manchester, to appoint a passionate and skilled Music Teacher for a full-time position starting in September. This role presents an excellent opportunity to join a supportive and forward-thinking Expressive Arts department within a diverse school community.

Pay: In line with your teaching scale (MPS/UPS)

About the Role:

The successful candidate will deliver engaging and inspiring Music lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, supporting students of varying abilities to develop their musical understanding, practical skills, and creativity. You will also play an active role in extra-curricular music activities, including school concerts, ensembles, and performances.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Music to KS3 and KS4 pupils in line with the national curriculum

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons that foster a love of music and performance

  • Prepare students for GCSE Music assessments and coursework

  • Contribute to the development of schemes of work and departmental resources

  • Lead or assist with extra-curricular musical activities and events

  • Maintain high standards of classroom management and student engagement

  • Participate in departmental meetings, parent evenings, and school-wide initiatives

Candidate Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Previous experience teaching Music in a UK secondary school

  • Strong knowledge of music theory and practical musicianship

  • Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities

  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
