A highly reputable secondary school in Darwen is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of Music to join their vibrant and successful department on a permanent basis from April 2025. Role Overview:

The successful candidate will:

  • Deliver engaging and inspiring lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of Key Stage 5.
  • Plan, prepare, and assess students’ work to ensure progress and attainment.
  • Encourage creativity and musical excellence, nurturing students’ individual talents.
  • Contribute to extra-curricular music activities, including concerts, performances, and school productions.
  • Maintain high standards of classroom behaviour and promote a positive learning environment.

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, candidates must:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Have a degree in Music or a closely related subject.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the music curriculum and a passion for developing students’ musical abilities.
  • Possess excellent classroom management skills with a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Be a reflective practitioner, willing to contribute to the wider school community and participate in extra-curricular activities.
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, staff, and parents.

Desirable:

  • Experience delivering music technology and/or extra-curricular music groups.
  • A proven track record of achieving excellent results with students of all abilities.
