The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) to join a successful and forward-thinking department. The MFL team is dedicated to delivering an engaging and research-led curriculum at KS3 and KS4, ensuring students develop strong linguistic and cultural awareness.

The department currently offers French and Spanish and is committed to expanding its language provision in the coming years. With a vision that every student will take a GCSE in a language, this is an exciting time to join a team that values the role of languages in developing well-rounded, aspirational young people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver a broad, balanced, and differentiated curriculum that supports all students in achieving their potential.
  • Plan and deliver high-quality, academically rigorous lessons informed by cognitive science principles.
  • Monitor and support students’ progress and personal development.
  • Contribute to raising standards of attainment across the school.
  • Participate in Tutor Time Reading as part of the school's literacy programme.
  • Engage in the intellectual preparation of shared resources to enhance curriculum delivery.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree.
  • A passion for languages and a commitment to engaging students in their learning.
  • A strong track record (or potential) of delivering high-quality, effective lessons.
  • A team player with a commitment to continuous professional development.
