About the Role:
In this role, you will work alongside teachers, counselors, and other support staff to ensure that students receive the emotional, psychological, and academic support they need to succeed. •Build positive, trusting relationships with students to help them feel safe, understood, and supported.
•Work closely with mental health professionals, SENCOs, and teaching staff to deliver holistic support tailored to the needs of each student.
•Offer 1:1 support or small group sessions to help students manage stress, improve self-esteem, and develop coping strategies.
•Help students stay engaged with their learning by offering emotional and behavioral support within the classroom and during break times.
•Monitor and track student progress, ensuring that any concerns related to mental health are identified early and addressed effectively.
•Support the implementation of school-wide mental health initiatives and programs.
What We’re Looking For:
•Experience in mental health support: Ideally, you’ll have experience working with young people in a mental health or educational setting, and a solid understanding of how mental health impacts learning.
•Strong communication and listening skills: You’ll be able to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues, creating a supportive and open environment.
•Empathy and patience: You will demonstrate understanding and kindness towards students facing mental health challenges, with the ability to remain calm and supportive during difficult situations.
•Proactive and solution-focused: You should have the initiative to spot early signs of mental health issues and work collaboratively with the school team to find practical solutions.
•A relevant qualification (e.g., mental health first aid, counseling, psychology, social work, or teaching) is desirable but not essential.
Why Work With Us?
•Be part of a school that prioritizes the well-being and mental health of all students.
•A supportive and collaborative environment, with access to ongoing professional development and training.
•The opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people, helping them overcome personal challenges and achieve their full potential.
