Maths Teacher/Tutor (SEN) – Special Educational Needs School

Location: Bristol Area
Salary: MPS/UPS (depending on experience)
Contract: Permanent, Monday to Thursday

This specialist SEN school provides tailored education for young people with additional learning needs, focusing on supporting students who may have struggled in mainstream settings. The school is dedicated to creating a nurturing and structured environment where students can build confidence, develop key skills, and achieve their potential. With small class sizes and a strong focus on personalised learning, staff work closely with students to ensure progress both academically and personally.

The Role

We are seeking a Maths Teacher/Tutor to support students with additional needs. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact, delivering engaging and accessible Maths lessons in a way that meets the needs of all learners. QTS is not required, but experience in SEN or alternative education settings would be beneficial.

Key Responsibilities:

✔️ Plan and deliver engaging Maths lessons in a way that supports different learning styles.
✔️ Adapt teaching methods to suit students with SEN, focusing on individual progress.
✔️ Support students in developing confidence and key numeracy skills.
✔️ Work closely with SEN specialists, teaching assistants, and other staff members.
✔️ Help students build resilience and positive attitudes towards learning.

What We're Looking For:

Teaching/tutoring experience in Maths, preferably in an SEN or alternative provision setting.
A creative and adaptable approach to teaching.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
The ability to build positive relationships with students who may have additional learning needs.
