Job Title: Maths Teacher
Location: Newbury, Berkshire
Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum
Contract Type: Full-time, permanent (Term-time only)
About the School
Our client is a specialist school that provides highly effective education, therapy, welfare, and support for children and young people aged 6 to 19 with social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH), as well as other complex needs.
With three dedicated sites, the school delivers a structured and individualised education programme tailored to each student’s specific requirements, taking into account their Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs). Teaching is delivered in small groups or on a one-to-one basis by fully qualified teachers and instructors, ensuring a supportive and personalised approach to learning.
The Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Maths Teacher to join their team and deliver high-quality, engaging maths education to students with SEMH and complex needs. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to make a real difference and inspire students in their learning journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver a high-quality and engaging mathematics curriculum tailored to the needs of students.
- Plan and implement effective teaching strategies to support students with SEMH and additional learning needs.
- Differentiate lessons to ensure all students are challenged and supported appropriately.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to students and parents/carers.
- Work closely with the wider school team to ensure the overall development and wellbeing of students.
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a strong background in teaching mathematics.
- A passion for teaching and a commitment to inclusive education.
- Experience working with students with SEMH or other additional needs (desirable but not essential).
- Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
- A patient, adaptable approach to teaching, with a focus on creating a positive learning environment.
