Role: Maths Teacher
Area: Ilford

Salary: MPS/UPS, Dependent on experience

An Ofsted-rated GOOD secondary school in Ilford is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Teacher of Maths to join their permanent staff team starting in January 2025. The school is looking for a passionate educator who can inspire students to excel in mathematics and contribute to the academic success of the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering high-quality Maths lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach A-Level Maths.
  • Planning and preparing engaging lessons that cater to a diverse range of abilities and learning styles.
  • Assessing, recording, and reporting on the progress and attainment of students.
  • Contributing to the development of the Maths curriculum and participating in departmental meetings.
  • Supporting students’ academic growth and fostering a positive learning environment.
  • Engaging with parents, carers, and colleagues to promote student progress and well-being.
  • Participating in whole-school initiatives and contributing to the broader life of the school.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Mathematics or a related subject.
  • Proven experience in teaching Maths at secondary level, with a strong understanding of the UK National Curriculum.
  • Ability to teach Maths up to GCSE level; experience with A-Level Maths is highly desirable.
  • Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for teaching Maths.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to maintain high standards of discipline.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to engage in further training.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
