Job description

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Mathematics Teacher to join our team from January 2025. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual passionate about inspiring students and fostering a love for mathematics in a supportive and caring environment.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an inspiring and committed Mathematics Teacher who will:

  • Possess a relevant teaching qualification (QTS) and a strong understanding of the mathematics curriculum at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
  • Demonstrate effective teaching strategies, adapting lessons to meet the diverse learning needs of all students, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • Foster a positive classroom environment, encouraging students to develop a growth mindset and a love for mathematics.
  • Display excellent interpersonal and communication skills, allowing for the building of strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Hold high expectations for students’ learning and behaviour, actively working to reduce low-level disruptions in the classroom.
  • Employ a range of assessment strategies to check for understanding and inform future planning, ensuring that learning gaps are identified and addressed promptly.
  • Contribute to the school’s personal development programmes and support students in developing vital skills for their future success.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to continually enhance your skills and knowledge in mathematics education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and high-quality mathematics lessons that inspire students and promote a deep understanding of mathematical concepts.
  • Use varied teaching approaches to accommodate different learning styles, ensuring all pupils can access and engage with the curriculum.
  • Assess and track students' progress regularly, providing constructive feedback and adapting teaching methods accordingly.
  • Promote positive behaviour in the classroom, applying the school’s policies consistently to maintain a conducive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to departmental improvements.
  • Engage with parents and carers to foster a partnership in supporting students’ academic and personal development.
  • Participate in school events and extracurricular activities to support the wider school community.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
