Job description

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a secondary school and sixth form seeking a Teacher of Maths to join the department from January 2025.

The school:

Located in the historic city of Chichester, this secondary school offers a vibrant and inclusive learning environment for students aged 11 to 18. The institution prides itself on a strong academic curriculum complemented by a wide range of extracurricular activities, including sports, arts, and community service programs. The campus features modern facilities, including state-of-the-art science labs, a well-equipped library, and extensive sports fields. With a dedicated team of educators, the school focuses on fostering both academic excellence and personal growth, preparing students for future success in higher education and beyond. The supportive and nurturing atmosphere encourages students to achieve their full potential while developing a sense of responsibility and respect for others. The school was graded ‘GOOD’ in all areas, with an ‘OUTSTANDING’ Sixth Form during Ofsted’s most recent visit. 

The school is easily accessible by car or public transport and is located just a 10-minute walk from Chichester train station.

The role:

The school are looking to appoint a dynamic teacher of maths to join their department on a full-time, permanent basis, from January 2025.  The successful educator will be joining a supportive department who are passionate and determined to deliver high standards to all learners.  The appointed educator will teach maths across KS3 and KS4 with the potential to teach at KS5 if this would be of interest. 

To succeed in this role, you will:

  • Be an excellent classroom practitioner with an enjoyment of working with young people.
  • Have effective classroom management and an ability to demonstrate resilience in working with challenging behaviour.
  • Have effective time management; able to prioritise workload to meet deadlines and targets.
  • Be an excellent team player, genuinely committed to working in partnership with others.
  • Be an excellent communicator to a variety of audiences with good interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.
  • Be a reflective practitioner committed to developing own teaching and learning strategies.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
