Job Opportunity: Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated good secondary school in Bramhall. This full-time position starts ASAP and continues until the end of the academic year, with the potential for the role to become permanent based on performance. The pay for this role ranges from £419.25 to £500 per week.

Role Overview:

As a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will support the mathematics department in delivering high-quality education to students. This role is ideal for recent graduates with a passion for mathematics and a desire to gain valuable experience in a school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Student Support:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring to students, helping them to understand and excel in mathematics.
  • Assist students with homework, coursework, and exam preparation, ensuring they achieve their learning objectives.
  • Support students who may be struggling with mathematical concepts by providing clear explanations and guidance.

Classroom Assistance:

  • Work alongside teachers to prepare and deliver engaging lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students.
  • Help to create and organise teaching materials, resources, and displays to enhance the learning environment.
  • Assist with classroom management, ensuring a positive and productive learning atmosphere.

Curriculum Support:

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of lesson plans and schemes of work.
  • Help to assess and monitor students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and supporting individual learning plans.
  • Support the use of technology and interactive tools to make learning maths more engaging and effective.

Pastoral Care:

  • Build positive relationships with students, offering encouragement and support to help them build confidence in their mathematical abilities.
  • Promote a positive attitude towards learning and encourage good behaviour and attendance.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and carers about students' progress and any concerns.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with the mathematics department and other staff to ensure a cohesive approach to teaching and learning.
  • Participate in regular meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
  • Contribute to the wider school community by participating in extracurricular activities and events.

Requirements:

  • A degree in mathematics or a related field.
  • A strong interest in education and a passion for helping students succeed in mathematics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Patience, empathy, and a supportive approach to working with young people.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Previous experience working with young people or in an educational setting is desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
