Early Career Teacher (ECT) - Maths

Exciting Opportunity for Maths ECTs in Oldham

Are you a passionate and dedicated Maths Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking to start your teaching journey in a supportive and dynamic environment? We are seeking enthusiastic Maths ECT to join a forward-thinking secondary school in Oldham. About the Role:

As a Maths ECT, you will play a key role in delivering engaging and challenging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will be responsible for planning and teaching a curriculum that fosters students' understanding and love for mathematics, while also supporting their progress and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Maths lessons that cater to a range of abilities and learning styles.
  • Create and implement lesson plans that align with the national curriculum and inspire a love for Maths.
  • Assess, monitor, and provide feedback on student progress to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Participate in CPD opportunities and make the most of mentoring and support to successfully complete your induction year.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • A recently qualified Maths Teacher (ECT) with QTS, or in the process of obtaining it.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for teaching Maths.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • Effective classroom management skills, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment.
  • A proactive approach to professional development and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • A valid DBS check registered with the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
