Male Secondary Teaching Assistant

Location: England, Greater London, Wandsworth

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Salary: £85 - £100 Per day

Job Duties:

  • Support the classroom teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons, providing one-on-one assistance to students with learning difficulties or additional needs.
  • Assist with the preparation of teaching materials and resources, ensuring they are relevant and accessible to all students.
  • Supervise students during lessons and break times, promoting a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with the classroom teacher and other team members to ensure a cohesive and effective learning experience for all students.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths, with strong knowledge and understanding of these subjects.
  • Previous experience working with secondary school students, with a strong understanding of their needs and challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team, contributing to a positive and collaborative work environment.

Education:

  • A level or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject is desirable.
  • Teaching assistant certification or relevant training is advantageous.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within a school setting, with a strong understanding of classroom management techniques.
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs is highly desirable.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Good understanding of safeguarding procedures and the ability to implement them effectively.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage time effectively and adapt to the needs of individual students.
  • Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting the academic and personal growth of all students.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent is highly desirable.
  • First Aid certification is advantageous.

Working Conditions:

  • This is a full-time position, with regular school hours and holidays.
  • The majority of work will take place within the classroom environment, with occasional requirements to assist with extracurricular activities or school events.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
