Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: England, Greater London, Wandsworth
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Salary: £130 - £165 Per day
Job Duties:
- Supporting secondary school students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in their learning and development
- Assisting teachers in implementing individual education plans for students with SEN
- Providing one-on-one or small group support to students with SEN in various subjects
- Helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students
- Collaborating with other school staff, parents, and external professionals to support the needs of students with SEN
Required Qualifications:
- Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs in an educational setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
Education:
- Minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent
- Additional training or qualifications related to Special Educational Needs is desirable
Experience:
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a secondary school setting
- Experience supporting students with a range of SEN requirements
Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of various SEN conditions and strategies to support students with diverse needs
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the individual needs of students with SEN
- Good organisational skills and the ability to multitask effectively
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards supporting student learning
Preferred Qualifications:
- Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
- Additional training or qualifications in specific areas of Special Educational Needs
Working Conditions:
- Working hours are typically during school hours, Monday to Friday
- May require occasional participation in school events or meetings outside of regular hours
- Work is primarily conducted within a school setting, including classrooms and other learning spaces
- Opportunity for professional development and ongoing training to enhance skills in supporting students with SEN

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
