Job description
We are seeking multiple tutors within the Luton area to work with young people aged between 5-16 – is this something you would be interested in?
Here at TP Tutors we work very closely with an array of local authorities up and down the country providing young people with tuition due to them being out of mainstream education for a variety of reasons, such as SEN needs, SEMH, Autism, ADHD, Learning Difficulties and Lower Learning Levels. It is our aim to provide high quality, impactful 1:1 tuition for these young people!
Job Description:
As a Tutor you will be responsible for providing academic support and guidance to young people in a 1:1 setting all the way up to 1:6 setting. Your duties will include preparing and delivering lessons both face to face and online, depending on your preferability. Assessing students and tracking progress, identifying gaps in the young persons learning, adapt and implement a variety of different teaching strategies in order to best meet the individual learning needs.
Job Duties:
- Developing personalised learning strategies for students who are out of mainstream education.
- Delivering engaging and interactive lessons in line with the students' individual education plans
- Assessing students' progress and adjusting teaching techniques accordingly
- Collaborating with parents, teachers, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student development
- Completing a detailed report after each and every session, outlining learning objectives, engagement and comprehension.
Required Qualifications:
- Have QTS or be a Higher Level Teaching Assistant or SEN/ SEMH experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to tailor teaching methods to suit individual learning styles
Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
- A relevant degree in Education or a related field
- Experience working with students with SEN/SEMH
- Knowledge of different learning disabilities and strategies to support them
- Strong organisational and time management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Postgraduate qualification in Special Educational Needs
- Experience in creating and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
- Training in specific interventions such as Makaton or TEACCH

- Online classroom platform- to enable you to deliver online tuition to students in a virtual environment. This platform offers all the tools you will require to deliver online tuition and is recorded for safeguarding purposes and for revision purposes.
- Hourly rate of £25- £30 which is paid weekly
- Access to free safeguarding and CPD courses as well as free access to assessment tools and resources.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
