Job Title: Learning Support Assistant
Location: Mildenhall, Suffolk
Salary: £25,410 per annum
Working Hours: Full-time, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent

The Role:
Our client is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join their dedicated team. In this role, you will:

  • Provide support to vulnerable young people aged 11-18, helping to enhance their emotional wellbeing and fostering their aspirations to learn.
  • Ensure safeguarding is a priority and develop an understanding of safeguarding procedures.
  • Implement strategies to assist students with social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties, while understanding their Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • Work as part of a team to manage behaviour effectively, following each student’s Behaviour Support Plan.
  • Offer tailored support based on the individual needs of each student, ensuring their safety and supporting their access to learning activities.

The Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for someone who has:

  • Experience working with children and young people.
  • Experience in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is an advantage.
  • A genuine interest in supporting pupils to overcome barriers to learning.
  • The ability to manage challenging behaviour effectively and positively.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • A good general standard of education (GCSE Grade 4 or equivalent in English and Maths).
  • Proficiency in IT.
