Job Ad: Year 5 Teaching Assistant

Position: Year 5 Teaching Assistant (September 2024 – ongoing)
Location: Woolwich, South East London
Type: Full-time
Salary:£95 per day

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting on behalf of our partnership school for an LSA to join a Year 5 classroom. This position will include supporting a young child on a 1:1 basis. The pupil struggles with building relationships and as such we are looking for a positive role model to work with her on these skills.

Your Role:

  • Assist in planning and leading engaging, educational activities.
  • Support Year 5 pupils in their academic and personal development.
  • Ensure a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to pupils.
  • Help with classroom management and organisation.
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and staff.
  • Observe and document pupils’ progress and development.

NOTE: All applicants must have experience working in an SEN Capacity in some way or another. Be that personal experience with a famiily member or supporting a child in a primary or secondary school who has a variation of SEN.

Qualifications:

  • GCSEs; relevant certification or degree in education preferred.
  • Experience working with children, especially in an educational setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with children.
  • Team player with flexibility and adaptability.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
