Learning Support Assistant
Job description
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers to provide tailored support to students, helping them to overcome learning barriers and achieve their full potential. This role is ideal for someone who is patient, empathetic, and has a genuine interest in supporting children’s education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with additional learning needs.
- Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and support learning activities in the classroom.
- Work alongside teachers to adapt and differentiate lesson materials to meet the needs of all learners.
- Support the emotional and social development of students, promoting positive behavior and inclusion.
- Assist with the assessment and monitoring of student progress.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other staff members.
- Encourage student independence and foster a positive learning environment.
Person Specification:
- Experience working with children in an educational setting, particularly those with special educational needs (SEN).
- A strong understanding of child development and learning processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Patience, resilience, and a positive attitude.
- A relevant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
