Key Responsibilities of the Learning Support Assistant Role:

Provide learning support to students on a one-to-one or small group basis.

Assist with individual education plans (IEPs) and behavioural plans, ensuring students meet their academic and personal goals.

Build strong relationships with students, adapting your approach to meet their unique learning and behavioural needs.

Encourage and support students to engage in classroom activities, ensuring they interact with peers and develop important social skills.

Maintain a safe and positive environment for students to learn and grow.

Help students with classroom tasks and ensure they stay focused on learning activities.
Person Specification:

Experience: Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant or in a similar classroom-based role is highly desirable.

Skills: Strong communication and behaviour management skills, with the ability to build rapport with students of varying abilities.

Personal Qualities: You should be outgoing, engaging, and supportive, with a positive and proactive attitude toward student development.

Ability to Manage Behaviour: Experience using de-escalation techniques to support students with challenging behaviours is a plus.
