 Learning Support Assistant

Location – Highcliffe, Christchurch, UK
Salary – A daily rate of £85.00 - £100.00 
Working Hours – 8:30 - 15:30, Monday - Friday
Start Date - ASAP

Teaching Personnel is working with a specialised provision that provides brilliant opportunities for young people with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP). We are looking to add impactful talent to our staff team. This Learning Support Assistant position will work closely with students with the intention of creating a positive attitude to learning in a safe environment.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • A valid right to work in the UK (Unfortunately, sponsorship is NOT OFFERED for this role)
  • Previous experience in either the education or care sector
  • Hold GCSEs in English, Maths, and Science above a grade 5 
  • Hold an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS with an update service subscription, or be willing to apply for one

About the Role:

The role involves working with students who have had a difficult start in life and may have experienced degrees of trauma. They will need support in regulating emotions and understanding how their mind operates. Most students will have additional needs such as ASC and SLCNs.

  • Follows THRIVE teaching practices
  • Enrichment vocational qualification for secondary students
  • Previous Teaching Assistant experience is preferred, or for someone with experience in youth work or care who would like to move into education
  • A progressive provision that puts social, emotional, and developmental needs at the forefront of students’ learning experiences alongside academia

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
