Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated Learning Mentor to join a vibrant and supportive secondary school in Brighton. This is a rewarding opportunity to work in a school that prioritizes student well-being, holistic development, and academic success.

As a Learning Mentor, you will play a vital role in helping students overcome barriers to learning, supporting their personal and academic development. You will work closely with students, teachers, and parents to create a positive, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students who need additional guidance
  • Help students develop confidence, resilience, and motivation
  • Work collaboratively with teachers to ensure students receive the support they need
  • Assist with behavior management, emotional well-being, and social development
  • Support students in setting and achieving personal and academic goals
  • Foster a safe and positive school environment that promotes learning

 

What We’re Looking For:

  • Passion for working with young people and helping them reach their full potential
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build positive and trusting relationships with students
  • A patient, empathetic, and supportive approach
  • Previous experience in education, mentoring, youth work, or SEN support is beneficial but not essential
  • A valid DBS certificate (or willingness to apply for one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
