 Lead English Teacher

Location: Blackburn with Darwen
Position: Lead English Teacher
Contract: Temp to Perm
Pay: Dependent on skills and experience

Are you a passionate English teacher with a talent for strong behaviour management and a desire to make a real difference in an Alternative Provision setting? We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Lead English Teacher to join our secondary alternative provision school in the Blackburn with Darwen area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the English department, delivering high-quality lessons to students who may face barriers to learning.
  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging English lessons that cater to the needs of all students.
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies, creating a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with staff to support students’ academic, social, and emotional development.

What We're Looking For:

  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent, with experience in teaching English at the secondary level.
  • Proven expertise in strong behaviour management, particularly in challenging environments.
  • A commitment to helping students overcome obstacles and achieve their full potential.
  • Adaptability, resilience, and a student-centred approach to teaching.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
