Location: Mainstream Secondary School, Darwen, Lancashire
Contract: Full-time, Long-term Cover

Are you passionate about English and inspiring young minds? We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of English to join our vibrant secondary school in Darwen, Lancashire, on a full-time, long-term basis.

About the Role

As a Teacher of English, you will:

  • Deliver engaging and high-quality lessons to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students.
  • Foster a love of literature, language, and learning in a supportive and inclusive environment.
  • Plan and mark work in line with the school’s curriculum and policies.
  • Support students to achieve their full potential, regardless of ability or background.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the wider school community.

About You

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A degree in English or a related subject.
  • Experience teaching English to secondary school students (KS3 and KS4).
  • A passion for education and a commitment to student success.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and motivate students.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
