Job description

Job Title: English and Maths KS3 SEN Outreach Tutor

Location:

East of England, Essex, Maldon

Job Type:

Temporary, Part-Time hours

£20 - £30 Per hour

Job Duties:

  • Provide English and Maths tutoring to Key Stage 3 students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Deliver outreach sessions tailored to the individual learning needs of each student
  • Create engaging and inclusive lesson plans to support academic progress
  • Assess student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and support staff to ensure a holistic approach to student development

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience working with students with SEN
  • Excellent knowledge of the KS3 English and Maths curriculum

Education:

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education or relevant field

Experience:

At least 2 years of experience in tutoring or teaching students with SEN

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of different learning styles and strategies
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students with diverse needs
  • Organisational skills to plan and manage individualised learning programmes

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional certifications in Special Education or SEN support
  • Experience in delivering outreach or community-based education programmes

Working Conditions:

  • Part-Time hours with flexibility in scheduling sessions
  • Work primarily in a school, community centre setting or the learners home
  • Potential travel within the East of England region for outreach sessions

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
