Job description

KS2 Teacher required for a specialist school providing weekly boarding and day placements for boys aged 5 to 13 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. They offer a nurturing and structured learning environment that enables students to thrive both academically and emotionally. A dedicated team of staff work closely with each child, delivering an engaging and tailored curriculum that supports their individual needs and development.

The Role

We are seeking a committed and passionate teacher. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering a broad and balanced curriculum, supporting students with SEMH needs to reach their full potential in a supportive and structured environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver creative and engaging lessons suited to the diverse needs of students.
  • Support students in their academic, emotional, and social development.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants and specialist staff to ensure a collaborative approach to learning.
  • Foster a safe, supportive, and structured classroom environment.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to parents and staff.
  • Promote positive behavior management strategies in line with school policies.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) 
  • Experience working with children with SEMH or additional needs 
  • A flexible and creative approach to teaching.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Patience, resilience, and a commitment to making a difference in the lives of young learners.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
