Year 6 Teacher
The Governors and Head Teacher of a School in Darwen are seeking a Year 6 Teacher to take up a full-time teaching role from September 2025. The role will continue for the academic year covering a staff absence in the KS2 department. The teaching position will involve the full role of a class teacher including; planning high quality lesson content; assessing the needs of the children on a daily basis; meeting with parents and feeding back on their progress.
The children in the Year 6 class are considered to be challenging and so the school are keen to appoint a teacher who has good classroom management and behaviour strategies. The Head teacher is very keen to support any new members of staff and will be happy to offer advice and any additional training through CPD and twilight sessions. In the past, teachers have joined through the agency and received a full induction and walk around the school, with full introductions with all of the staff. The Head teacher is always keen to make sure her team are happy and by offering the full support and induction she retains her staff well.
The school is in a really positive position at the moment following a successful Ofsted inspection recently. The Head teacher has moved the school from Requires Improvement to Good in the period that she has been in post. This has been through the dedication and hard work of all the staff in school and locally the school are now seen as one of the top performing in the area.
What skills and experiences do you require?
You must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
You must have experience in KS2
You must have recent experience working in a primary setting (at least 6 months experience)
You must be available to work from January for the remainder of the academic year
You must be dedicated to raising standards and reflective practice
You must have good behaviour management strategies and techniques
You must have strong subject knowledge and be able to provide excellent care in the class room.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
