Position: KS1 Teaching Assistant

Locations: Sheffield and Barnsley, South Yorkshire

As a KS1 Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting teachers and students, fostering a love of learning in the early stages of their education.

Job Description:

As a KS1 Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing one-on-one and group support to students in Key Stage 1 (ages 5-7).
  • Assisting the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons.
  • Supporting the development of literacy, numeracy, and social skills through interactive activities.
  • Helping manage classroom behavior to create a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Preparing learning materials and assisting with classroom organization.
  • Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Supporting children with additional needs, including those with SEN, to ensure they can access the curriculum effectively.

Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent.
  • Experience working with KS1 students preferred, but not essential.
  • Understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum and strategies to support young learners.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with children.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
