Job Title: KS1 Teaching Assistant
Location: Doncaster
Salary: £83.85 - £100 per day
Contract Type: Full-time/Part-time, term-time only
Start Date: January 2025
About the Role:
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic KS1 (Key Stage 1) Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team in Doncaster. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to create a positive and engaging learning environment, supporting children aged 5–7 to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging and effective lessons aligned with the KS1 curriculum.
- Provide tailored support to individual pupils and small groups, including those with additional needs or EAL (English as an Additional Language).
- Assist with the preparation of classroom materials and resources to enhance learning experiences.
- Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to the class teacher.
- Promote positive behaviour and support children’s social and emotional development.
- Foster an inclusive and welcoming classroom environment where every child feels valued.
- Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and colleagues to support children’s learning and wellbeing.
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all pupils by adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures.
About You:
- Experience working with children in a primary school setting, particularly KS1 (desirable but not essential).
- A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Childcare, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of the KS1 curriculum and a passion for supporting children’s learning.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A caring, patient, and proactive approach to working with children.
- Commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
