We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Year 2 Teacher to join a larger-than-average primary school in Leyland, PR25 for the first term of September 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a vibrant school with a supportive team and help guide Year 2 students through an important stage in their learning journey.
About the Role:
As the Year 2 Teacher, you will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing lessons that cater to the needs of all students, ensuring that they meet key learning objectives and continue to thrive academically. You will have the support of a passionate team of staff and will be working in a school that is committed to providing the best possible education for all its pupils.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons for Year 2 students in line with the national curriculum.

Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes both academic and personal growth.

Manage classroom behaviour effectively, ensuring all students are motivated and focused on their learning.

Track and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support where needed.

Work collaboratively with the teaching team to share best practices and provide a consistent approach to student learning.

Communicate regularly with parents and carers regarding student progress and wellbeing.

Ideal Candidate:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Experience teaching in Year 2 (or similar age group) and a strong understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum.

Excellent classroom management and the ability to engage students in their learning.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

Passionate about teaching and supporting young learners in their academic and social development.

Available for full-time work during the first term from September 2025.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
