Job Title: Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant (Full-Time)
Location: Burnley based Primary School
Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term

About Us:
We are a warm, welcoming, and inclusive primary school in Burnley, committed to providing a nurturing and engaging learning environment for all our pupils. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our Key Stage 2 team on a long-term basis, starting as soon as possible. This role offers great opportunities for professional development (CPD) within a supportive and collaborative setting.

Role Overview:
As a Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the class teacher in delivering high-quality education to pupils aged 7-11. You will assist in lesson preparation, work with small groups, provide one-to-one support, and help maintain a positive learning atmosphere. The position offers long-term stability and excellent CPD opportunities to help further your career in education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher with delivering lessons and engaging learning activities.
  • Work closely with small groups of pupils or on a one-to-one basis to offer targeted support.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and create a positive, safe learning environment.
  • Assist in the preparation of learning resources and classroom materials.
  • Provide feedback to the class teacher on pupil progress and development.
  • Support children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) when necessary.
  • Participate in school-wide activities, events, and extracurricular programmes as required.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school, ideally within Key Stage 2.
  • Strong understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum and learning strategies.
  • Ability to work with children of varying abilities and provide differentiated support.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A positive, patient, and nurturing approach to working with children.
  • Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or above) preferred.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
