Teaching Personnel are working closely with a school in Fareham who are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of Humanities to join their vibrant secondary school in Fareham from September. The school believe Humanities plays a key role in developing well-rounded, culturally aware students. Through studying Geography, History, and Religious Education, students gain valuable insights into different perspectives, developing skills in critical thinking, problem-solving, and ethical reasoning.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in one or more Humanities subjects (Geography, History, or Religious Education) across Key Stages 3 and 4.

  • Inspire students by creating an engaging and supportive learning environment that fosters curiosity and a passion for Humanities.

  • Develop students’ skills in critical thinking, analysis, and evaluation through thought-provoking discussions and activities.

  • Monitor student progress, providing regular feedback and assessment to support their academic development.

  • Contribute to the development of an enriching and inclusive Humanities curriculum.

  • Support extracurricular activities, trips, and events that enhance students’ understanding of Humanities subjects.

  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Humanities department and participate in whole-school initiatives.

 

Requirements:

  • A degree in a Humanities subject (Geography, History, Religious Education, or a related field).

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.

  • A passion for Humanities education and a commitment to student engagement and progress.

  • Experience teaching Humanities at secondary school level.

  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create an inclusive and dynamic learning environment.

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
