History Teacher

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated History Teacher to join an excellent secondary school in the Fareham area. This is a full-time position, commencing from September.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective History lessons to students from Year 7 to Year 11, following the National Curriculum guidelines.
  • Prepare lesson plans and teaching materials that facilitate active learning.
  • Develop schemes of work and lesson plans in line with curriculum objectives.
  • Assess and record the progress of student's learning to inform next steps.
  • Provide feedback to parents on pupils’ progress at parent's evenings and other meetings.
  • Collaborate with educational staff and participate in departmental meetings, parent's evenings, and whole-school training events.
  • Manage student behaviour in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
  • Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • A degree in History or a related subject.
  • Experience teaching History at the secondary level is desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent knowledge of the National Curriculum for History.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
