About the Role:
We are seeking an engaging and motivated History Teacher to join our secondary school community in the Chorley area. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to delivering high-quality history lessons that encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of historical events and their impact on today's world. You will be responsible for planning and delivering lessons that meet the national curriculum standards, assessing student progress, and providing support to ensure every student reaches their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement dynamic lesson plans aligned with the curriculum.
- Engage students in exploring a range of historical periods, themes, and concepts.
- Foster an inclusive and positive classroom environment that encourages active participation.
- Assess, track, and report on student progress, providing feedback to both students and parents.
- Collaborate with colleagues and participate in school events, departmental meetings, and professional development.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Degree in History or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of the national curriculum for history.
- Experience teaching history at the secondary level (preferred but not essential for exceptional candidates).
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
