Job description

Are you an experienced and motivated teaching assistant looking to take your career to the next level? Do you have a passion for supporting students and enhancing their educational journey? Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our vibrant team in Woolwich, South East London.

About the Role:

As an HLTA with Teaching Personnel, you will play a pivotal role in providing high-quality support and instruction to students across various subjects and age groups. You will work closely with teachers to plan and deliver engaging lessons, provide one-on-one and small group support, and contribute to the overall positive atmosphere of the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering lessons, including leading classes in the absence of the teacher.
  • Provide targeted support to individual students or small groups, tailored to their specific needs.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Support classroom management and create a positive learning environment.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as needed.

Requirements:

  • Experience working as a teaching assistant or in a similar educational role.
  • HLTA qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Strong understanding of the national curriculum and educational best practices.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to supporting teaching and learning.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
