Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Salary£25,532.00 Annually (Actual)
32.5 hrs a week, term time plus 5 training days

Teaching Personnel have an amazing opportunity to work with an outstanding school based in Huddersfield.
THE ROLE
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant HLTA you will be supporting outstanding progress in learning. You will make connections, develop relationships and lead pupils on the path to a bright future. This will include working under the guidance of a teacher/ phase lead to support the academic and personal development of children throughout the school day. This includes:
- Supporting and leading a class
- Ability to form relationships and communicate effectively
- Manage student behaviour in the classroom and handle disruptive behaviour, always promoting a positive learning environment
- Completing pupil records with regular feedback to senior colleagues
- Flexible to cover other classes and act up where necessary
- Using your experience to lead enrichment groups
- Be involved and active with all activities we as a school may promote
- Direct junior staff
THE CANDIDATE
- Experience in a school or similar setting
- Experience working with children/ young people with SEN / SEMH needs
- Educated with GCSE Maths and English
- Level 3 qualification with desire to complete Level 4
- HLTA qualification OR willing to achieve within 2 years through our CPD programme
- Car driver with access to own vehicle
- As well as our values as outlined above we are seeking resilience from our HLTA

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
