Head of Modern Foreign Languages (French and Spanish)
Location: Norfolk
Salary: Main Pay Scale (MPS) to Upper Pay Scale (UPS), plus a TLR of £6,700 per annum
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent

The PWR team at Teaching Personnel is working with a highly respected 11-18 secondary school in Norfolk to recruit a dynamic and dedicated Head of Modern Foreign Languages (French and Spanish). This is a unique leadership opportunity for an experienced teacher to drive excellence in both curriculum development and innovative teaching practices within a forward-thinking and supportive environment.

The Role:

As Head of Modern Foreign Languages, you will be responsible for leading the French and Spanish departments, ensuring that high standards of teaching, learning, and student outcomes are consistently achieved. Your primary duties will include:

  • Serving as a role model to staff within the department, setting high expectations for teaching quality and curriculum delivery.
  • Leading the development of new approaches to the curriculum and pedagogy, enhancing students’ expertise in Modern Foreign Languages.
  • Managing the department’s performance, driving continuous improvement through effective data analysis, self-evaluation, and team development.
  • Collaborating with other subject leaders to foster cross-curricular links and ensure a cohesive and well-rounded academic offering for all students.

The Candidate:

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you should have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Proven experience as both a teacher and manager within secondary education, with a track record of success in leading subject areas.
  • A demonstrated ability to develop a high-quality, academically rigorous curriculum that engages and challenges students.
  • Experience in performance management, data-driven self-evaluation, and fostering team improvement.
