Job description

Are you a recent graduate or about to graduate?

Teaching Personnel are currently looking for graduates to take on teaching assistant roles in specialist secondary schools in Manchester full-time. 

The schools work with students with SEN and SEMH needs, where students will need additional support to ensure they are progressing at a steady rate. You will be involved with supporting teachers to monitor behaviour, ensure lessons go ahead as planned, and providing individualised support for the students that you will build a relationship with.

Within these roles you will:

-          Creating a happy and safe learning environment for each student to thrive within

-          Helping students to focus on their work and progress at a good rate

-          Provide feedback to teachers, other support staff and parents to create a cohesive team of staff within the school

-          Work closely with students on EHCPs to ensure the terms of these plans are being met

-          Understand and de-escalate different challenging behaviours

-          Take part in different training sessions within the school to ensure that you are consistently learning and improving how you work

For these roles you should:

-          Be able to work with secondary aged children who have additional needs

-          Have some experience working with children

-          Have a degree or be graduating this year

-          Be available full-time

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
