Graduate Teaching Assistant - Full-Time Position

Location: Levenshulme, Greater Manchester
Start Date: October
Pay: £419.25 - £500 per week

An Ofsted-rated "Good" secondary school in Levenshulme is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team. This full-time position starts in October and continues until the end of the academic year, with the potential for a permanent role based on performance. This opportunity is ideal for recent graduates who are passionate about education and are looking to gain valuable experience in a school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Classroom Support: Work closely with teachers to assist in the delivery of lessons, helping to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • One-to-One and Small Group Support: Provide targeted assistance to students who may need additional help, including those with special educational needs (SEN) or those requiring extra support to achieve their academic potential.
  • Behavioral Support: Assist in managing classroom behavior, implementing strategies to promote positive behavior and a conducive learning atmosphere.
  • Resource Preparation: Help prepare teaching materials and resources, ensuring that lessons are well-organized and accessible to all students.
  • Progress Monitoring: Track and report on student progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to the planning of future lessons and interventions.
  • Extracurricular Activities: Support the delivery of extracurricular activities, helping to enrich the overall educational experience for students.

Requirements:

  • Graduate Status: A degree in any discipline, with a strong academic background and a passion for education.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • Teamwork: The ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with teachers, other support staff, and parents.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to meet the varying needs of students and the demands of a dynamic school environment.
  • Commitment to Education: A genuine interest in pursuing a career in education, with a desire to make a positive impact on students’ learning and development.
