Job description

The Headteacher and governing body of a Primary School in Preston are keen to secure a Teaching Assistant at Graduate Level to join their fantastic school from February 2025. They are looking for inspiring and enthusiastic graduates who want to develop their skills and gain experience within the school environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates who are looking to gain a better understanding of the teaching profession and for graduates who are considering a career in teaching. There will be professional development opportunities and the opportunity to work alongside pupils across KS1 and KS2. In addition, all staff are well equipped with excellent resources to create a fun and stimulating learning environment for children! Children are engaged with a creative curriculum and the school’s senior leaders have an open door policy for staff and pupils to share ideas and ultimately continue to improve the school for all.

The Headteacher of this wonderful school is well respected by staff and pupils and encourages the development of staff. The school ethos promoted inclusion and the school goes above and beyond to ensure all pupils have the tools they need to learn. There may be the opportunity to work alongside a Learning Support Assistant working alongside pupils with specific learning needs to equip the successful candidate with differentiation techniques. During the first half term the successful applicant will work across various classes across the school to identify which year-group they will be placed in for the remainder of the school year.

In order to be considered you must be able to provide details of two referees including one from your most recent employer. To conclude, this role is from Monday-Friday from February 2025. The working hours for this role are 8:30-15:15 at £12.90 per hour paid into your bank on a weekly basis.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
