Teaching Personnel are seeking a suitably qualified, enthusiastic, and motivated graduate who is looking to gain experience before pursuing a career in education, to join an Ofsted graded “OUTSTANDING” Secondary school in Clitheroe, Lancashire as a Teaching Assistant.
Start date: Monday 15th April 2024.
The successful candidate will have:
- The ability and willingness to understand the needs of students from different social backgrounds, sensory impairments, and special educational needs.
- Excellent oral and written communication.
- The ability to form and maintain appropriate professional relationships and boundaries with young people and adults.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- The ability to work constructively as part of a team
- Good ICT skills to support learning.
- The ability and willingness to learn new skills. With a commitment to personal career development.
- The desire to gain experience working in a school, with a view to possibly move into teaching in the future
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Develop knowledge of a range of learning support needs and develop an understanding of the specific needs of the children to be supported.
- Ensuring that students are able to use equipment and materials provided.
- Motivating and encouraging students as required.
- Assisting in weaker areas such as language, behaviour, reading, spelling, handwriting and presentation skills.
- Establish a supportive relationship with students.
- Assist, with the class teacher (and other professionals as appropriate), in the development of suitable programmes of support for students requiring learning support. Regularly remind subject teachers of key worker students’ targets

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
