Graduate Teaching Assistant Position - Pathway to Teacher Training
Location: Bournemouth
Start Date: September 2025

Contract: Full-time, two-year program leading to a salaried teacher training route

We are looking for enthusiastic and committed individuals to join our team as Graduate Teaching Assistants. This role is ideal for those who are ready to take the first step in their teaching career and want a structured, supported pathway to achieving Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
About the Role
This unique two-year program is designed to equip you with the skills, confidence, and experience needed to thrive in the classroom.

Year 1: Graduate Teaching Assistant
You will spend your first year immersed in the classroom, working closely with experienced teachers to support students in their learning. Key tasks will include:- Assisting with lesson preparation and delivery.
- Providing one-to-one or small group support to students.
- Helping to manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning environment.
- Assisting with marking and assessment under the guidance of teachers.
- Supporting extracurricular activities, school events, and wider school life.

Year 2: Salaried Teacher Training Program
During your second year, you will transition onto a salaried teacher training route, where you will work towards gaining QTS. This includes:- Comprehensive teacher training tailored to your needs.
- Weekly mentorship sessions with experienced educators.
- Classroom responsibility, including planning and delivering lessons.
- Gaining practical skills to meet teaching standards and thrive in your career.
What We’re Looking For
To join this exciting program, you will need:
- A bachelor’s degree in any subject.
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English at grade C/4 or above.
- A passion for working with children and young people.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
