Teaching Personnel are seeking graduates of all subject specialisms, to fulfil a number of classroom based positions in secondary schools. 

This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience that can strengthen your PGCE application.

  • Salary: Between £90 - £110 a day
  • Hours: 08:30 – 15:30,  Monday – Friday. (Term time only)
  • Contract: Full time / Part time / Flexible shift work all available

Person Specification:

  • Recent University Graduate – All subject areas welcome
  • 5 GCSEs (A*-C), including English and Maths
  • Friendly, enthusiastic, and approachable personality
  • Some experience in education or sports coaching is desirable (ideally 6 weeks, but not essential)
  • Positive, energetic, and resilient attitude
  • Accessible to schools within Newport and surrounding areas

Available Graduate Roles:

Graduate Cover Supervisor: Gain invaluable classroom experience by overseeing lessons

As a Graduate Cover Supervisor, you will step in for absent teachers, ensuring students aged 11-16 remain on task and engaged in their learning. While you won’t be required to plan lessons, you will deliver pre-prepared material, maintain a positive learning environment, and ensure that behaviour aligns with school policies.

Graduate Teaching Assistant: Assist in classrooms and support student learning.

  • Support the class teacher and other teaching assistants in the daily running of the class
  • Support children during lessons and school activities
  • Manage challenging behaviours
  • Deliver one-to-one or small group activities

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
