Graduate Future Teacher

Your new job

Are you a recent or upcoming graduate looking to embark on a rewarding career in Primary education? Teaching Personnel's Future Teachers programme is just what you've been searching for!

What is Future Teachers?

Teaching Personnel’s Future Teacher Programme lets you fully explore a career in education before committing to Initial Teacher Training. We provide paid placements in schools and start a journey that can ultimately lead to qualified teacher status and a career that changes lives. The programme offers practical experience, strong school support, and a unique route toward teacher training and a career in education regardless of your subject.

  • Gain experience by covering lessons across all subject areas.
  • Develop your specialism by planning and delivering lessons
  • Develop insight by participating in pastoral aspects of school life

Why Future Teachers?

Teaching Personnel has joined forces with schools in the North East to offer a unique program that provides graduates with meaningful, paid experience as they contemplate their initial teacher training journey. Our aim is to equip graduates with valuable skills, offer a stable 12-month employment opportunity, and connect them with potential employers and ITT providers. We're committed to not only increasing the number of graduates entering the teaching profession but also ensuring their successful retention during and after their training year!

What Does Future Teachers Offer?

As part of the Future Teachers program, you'll embark on a 12-month position where you'll gain essential skills needed for a teaching career. Following the first year, we will support you as you apply for initial teacher training through a SCITT programme, often working in the same school or MAT group. Schools and MATs value the Future Teacher Programme as it helps them develop teachers who understand their school group’s particular culture and ethos.

Benefits of the Programme

  • 12 Months Paid Experience: Gain invaluable experience in forward-thinking Primary Schools
  • Quick and easy application and weekly pay
  • Dedicated Support: You'll have a Teaching Personnel consultant by your side, offering guidance and advice before, during, and after your placement
  • Wide Range of Experience: Tailored experiences that provide a strong foundation for your teaching career
  • Networking Opportunities: Connect with potential future employers and build relationships within the education sector
  • Direct Path to Teacher Training: Clear progression into Teacher Training courses

What Are We Looking For?

While prior school-based experience is not mandatory, candidates should demonstrate a genuine passion and interest in education. You should hold an undergraduate degree, this does not need to relate to Education. Positions are available throughout the year, with the largest intake typically in September.

If you're excited about the prospect of joining the Future Teachers programme, we invite you to apply today by clicking the "apply now" link. Please include an up-to-date CV that highlights your interest in the field of education.
