Are you a graduate eager to take the first step toward a career in teaching? Do you want to apply your degree specialism by working directly with secondary school students? Teaching Personnel is working closely with a number of secondary schools in the Portsmouth and surrounding areas, offering graduates a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience.

 

As a Cover Supervisor, you will:

  • Deliver pre-set lesson plans in the absence of the regular class teacher.
  • Manage classroom behaviour, ensuring a focused and productive learning environment.
  • Support students in engaging with the lesson material, answering questions, and clarifying instructions.
  • Report on student engagement and behaviour to teaching staff at the end of the lesson.

 

We welcome applications from graduates in any subject, particularly those with a passion for working with young people. No prior teaching experience is required, but we value candidates who are:

  • Confident in managing a classroom setting.
  • Adaptable, organised, and proactive.
  • Strong communicators with the ability to build rapport with students.
  • Positive role models who inspire students to achieve their best.

Requirements:

  • A degree in any subject.
  • A desire to work in education and support young people.
  • An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service (or the willingness to apply for one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
