Geography Teacher – Hyde

Location: Hyde
Start Date: April 2025
Salary: £150 - £220 per day (dependent on experience)

Are you an inspirational Geography Teacher looking for your next role? A thriving and high-achieving secondary school in Hyde is seeking a passionate educator to join their Humanities Department from April 2025.

This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who can engage students with dynamic lessons about the world around them and encourage critical thinking about environmental, social, and economic issues.

The Role:

  • Delivering high-quality Geography lessons to students in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, following the AQA national curriculum.

  • Teaching topics including physical geography (climate change, ecosystems, tectonics) and human geography (urbanisation, migration, globalisation).

  • Developing interactive and engaging lessons, using case studies, fieldwork opportunities, and real-world applications to enhance student learning.

  • Monitoring and assessing student progress, providing targeted support and interventions where necessary.

  • Contributing to the Geography department's curriculum development and participating in school-wide initiatives.

  • Encouraging student participation in extracurricular activities, geography clubs, and field trips.

  • Supporting the school’s ethos of academic excellence and inclusivity, ensuring students of all abilities can achieve success.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a specialism in Geography or a related subject.

  • Experience teaching Geography in a secondary school setting, with strong subject knowledge across KS3 and KS4.

  • Ability to engage and inspire students through innovative teaching methods.

  • Strong understanding of assessment and data-driven teaching strategies to enhance student performance.

  • A passion for environmental and global issues, encouraging students to think critically about the world.

  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create an inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
