Are you a passionate Geography graduate with a First or Upper Second Class degree? 

We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Geography Cover Supervisor to join our dynamic team at a mainstream secondary school in Northampton. The role you will be involved in, is a Cover Supervisor role, working with Key stages 3 and 4. This is an October 2024 start. The ideal candidate will be a enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the successful Geography department. We are looking for someone who is committed, innovative and solutions focused. There are plenty of opportunities to get involved with extra-curricular activities as well as numerous CPD opportunities both within the department and externally. A passion for Geography is a must as well as a keen desire to continuously develop subject knowledge and pedagogy. You will be well supported by a friendly and knowledgeable team and a fully resourced department.

 

As a Graduate Geography Cover Supervisor - you will:

  • Provide academic support and intervention for students, ensuring they reach their full potential.
  • Work closely with the Geography department to support classroom learning and one-to-one/small group sessions.
  • Gain hands-on experience in a supportive school environment, preparing you for a future in education.
  • Contribute to the wider school community, assisting in extracurricular activities and school event

The Graduate Study Supervisor will be able:

  • To provide general classroom cover in the absence of the class teacher communicating the work set by the class teacher to the students.
  • To promote positive student behaviour and conduct classroom management and organisation
  • To uphold the school rules and ethos.
  • To follow all instructions as directed by the class / lead teacher.
  • To observe Health and Safety Regulations.
  • Assist with whole school administration.

Requirements: Graduate Geography Cover Supervisor

  • Geography degree with a First or Upper Second Class grade.
  • A strong desire to pursue a career in teaching and education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive and positive attitude to supporting students in their academic journey
  • Hold excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Have a creative and reflective mindset within the classroom

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
