General Cover Teacher – Sunderland and Washington (SR1-SR8 and NE38)

Looking to stay connected with the classroom on a more flexible basis?
We’re seeking educators to join a successful supply network, offering general cover opportunities across schools in the Sunderland and Washington areas.

About the Role

This role is ideal for teachers who are seeking more flexibility—whether you're gradually stepping back from full-time work, juggling other commitments, or simply looking to stay active in education without the responsibilities of a permanent post.

You’ll be covering pre-set lessons in the absence of the regular class teacher, ensuring learning continues smoothly and students remain engaged and supported throughout the day.

About the Schools

The schools in our network are welcoming and well-organised, providing full guidance on procedures and behaviour policies so that you feel supported and confident stepping into the classroom. Your role will be highly valued as part of the wider effort to maintain continuity in students' education.

What We're Looking For

We're keen to hear from specialists who:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Have experience in a classroom or similar setting
  • Can communicate clearly and manage a class confidently
  • Hold a Child Workforce DBS or are willing to obtain one
  • Are eligible to work in the UK.

What’s in It for You?

  • Competitive daily pay through PAYE.
  • Access to consistent work and potential guaranteed pay (subject to availability)
  • Supportive and friendly team to help match you with the right schools
  • Opportunities for CPD and networking
  • Pension contributions
